Cambodia could be used long term to support economic growth and transform Cambodian society into a digital society.


Mr. Vongsey Visoth secretary of state at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, said that Cambodia could be used for long-term economic growth, building and transforming Cambodian society into a digital society that uses technology for human service and Living people.

He said that, in the context of globalization of Cambodia, it would be inevitable to experience the positive, negative and negative impacts of the fourth-generation revolution. Therefore, Cambodia needs to be well prepared and provide timely response to take advantage of technology development within the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially in the Digital Divide.

At the same time, Cambodia also has to pay attention to the consequences and consequences of technology on the society, especially the negative effects on society, such as skill gap and income gap. Additionally, there are also considerations for changing the perspective and behavior of people in society.

The development of Digital Economy in Cambodia will provide four major benefits to our society, including:

  1. Increasing efficiency and economic productivity, as well as increasing the efficiency of public service delivery of all types and in business activities.
  2. Connecting Cambodians to the currents of globalization, market and global technology, such as obtaining information, knowledge, perspectives and new lifestyles.
